LIBERTARIAN RADIO: SHOULD GOVERNMENT PROHIBIT ORGAN DONATIONS?

Added: (Mon Aug 15 2005)

Will potential Government Regulation based on misconceptions destroy your chance for a transplant? This could be, say some policymakers; and Dave Undis, founder of LifeSharers, a group developing the legal free market for donated organs, will explain what the current situation really is.

He will be a guest on FreedomWorks! The Libertarian Perspective, intenationally net braodcast from its site on Tuesday, August 16 at 9 PM EST. Listeners can call toll-free or e-mail questions.

The LifeSharers founder will discuss the legal free market in human organs, and tell listeners how they can increase their chances of getting an organ transplant if they ever need one.

Buying and selling organs has been illegal in the United States since Libertarians persuaded policymakers that government prohibitions were backfiring in 1984. LifeSharers is a legal non-monetary organ market, where users can participate in this market for free. Similar to a blood bank sharing arrangement, one can agree to donate on death, offered first to other LifeSharers members. In return there is preferred access to the organs of other members.
